Welcome parents! This is a new feature to REVOLVE! Student Ministries that I hope will be an important portal to communicate any information of events and happenings going on at R!SM.
I'm sure that most of you have heard your kids talking about some event or activity only to ask them what that event is about to have them say, "I don't know." I've also noticed in my years as a youth pastor that despite calendars, reminders and best efforts to get information to you through your teen that information doesn't always make it home... and, that's understandable. I'm an adult and most of the time when someone begins to tell me information - that should be important to myself or family - my eyes will glaze over, something shiny will distract my attention and all I hear is the teacher from the Charlie Brown cartoons. Oddly this happens when Pamela begins to talk to me too!
From time to time, probably not daily, but as needed I will update the blog to share information, monthly calendars and any news articles that I come across that I feel may be of interest to you as a parent of teenager.
This blog is also designed to allow you to comment back to me on posts that I make. Your questions or comments may be helpful to other parents as well, especially if I'm not clear on some point of an event, etc. These comments are moderated which means you can post a comment, then I will review the comment and then make the decision to have the comment posted publicly or not. I'm moderating the comments in this manner, since this is an open blog to the entire internet world, to help reduce any unwanted comments that don't pertain to you or myself as members of the REVOLVE! SM family.
This blog is a work in progress and will change and progress as we go. Just to be clear, this blog is only an information portal directly linked to the interests of you as a parent. This blog will not replace my original blog, Attack of the Killer Blog, where I do my writing and musing! :)
I look forward to an open stream of ideas in this new blogging endeavor!
Grace and Peace-
